Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Our Career Technical Education (CTE) program provides opportunities for learners to explore career pathways in middle and high school. A career pathway is a sequence of courses within a specific industry field. It should connect a learner’s interest with future career goals. It will help learners acquire knowledge and skills to continue the career pathway beyond high school.

Learners may take one CTE course to fulfill graduation requirements or take three CTE courses in a pathway to become a Pathway Completer. All CTE courses are facilitated by a credentialed CTE teacher, and schools may use these courses to count toward college/career indicators on their California State Dashboard.

To become a CTE Pathway Completer, learners must complete three-year-long high school courses in their designated pathway. Only two-year-long high school courses are required to become a CTE Pathway Completer in the Entrepreneurship and Business, Journalism and Theater Arts pathways. All middle school introduction courses are optional.

CTE courses are the perfect place to develop interest, skills, and experience in a career-related industry. CTE completion supports college admission and can be used on résumés for career placement.

Courses can be taken individually or in the suggested pathway sequence. Have questions? Connect with us to learn more!
