Step back in time aboard the Angels Flight Railway (click here to see a video). This little railway is made up of two cars, Olivet and Sinai, and has been part of Los Angeles since 1901.

Passengers take a short but memorable ride up Bunker Hill between Hill Street and Grand Avenue. This area was once quite affluent, and the cars were used to ferry riders up and down the steep hill. The 298-foot railway is open every day of the year and considered an essential Los Angeles experience. For more information, visit www.angelesflight.org

If you’re taking an online history course with us, let your history facilitator know you took the Historic Railway and what you learned. They will be thrilled to hear.
