Flat Mrs. Jeanne: A New Kind of Learning Adventure

Inspired by the classic Flat Stanley series, iLEAD Online Adventure course learners in kindergarten are bringing learning to life with their new friend, Flat Mrs. Jeanne. This creative project uses a paper version of their facilitator to spark imagination and build a sense of community, allowing students to explore their neighborhoods and share their adventures with classmates. As an important part of the “Hello, Neighbor!” curriculum, the project seamlessly integrates subjects like Social Studies, Math, and English Language Arts, turning everyday activities like number hunts and bike rides into meaningful educational opportunities. Ultimately, Flat Mrs. Jeanne provides a tangible way for young learners to feel connected and discover that adventure and learning can be found right outside their front door. Watch the video here!
