Learners will leave this course with a better understanding of fractions. Fractions can be scary but with this course, learners will become more confident by practicing how to visually add and subtract decimals, find a common denominator, add and subtract fractions with an uncommon denominator, and solve word problems using fractions. They will also get a chance to apply their knowledge to a fun and engaging project called Lemonade Stand. Students will be given a budget to purchase supplies for their lemonade stand. They will have to do some critical thinking by choosing essential supplies first, and estimating how many lemons & limes they will need to serve their customers. They will even do a cost analysis to make sure their business plan works! During this project, learners will practice decimal and fraction operations!
