The high school Ethnic Studies course offers an in-depth exploration of the diverse racial and ethnic groups that comprise American society, examining their histories, cultures, and contributions. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students will understand the significance of ethnicity and diversity, the social construction of identity, and the impact of colonial histories on indigenous peoples. The course covers African American, Latinx, Asian American, and European American experiences, highlighting their cultural expressions, social movements, and contemporary issues. Students will engage with topics such as immigration, intersectionality, and religious diversity, culminating in a project that fosters cross-cultural understanding and community advocacy.
