AP Precalculus Semester A introduces polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions through multiple representations, real-world contexts, and mathematical modeling. This semester lays the groundwork for advanced function analysis and prepares students for subsequent topics in precalculus and calculus. Students should have successfully completed Algebra 2 and Geometry (or Integrated Math 3) with a passing grade (the higher, the better). A solid understanding of algebraic concepts is essential for success in this course.
Recommended grades: 11-12
Pre-requisite: None, but recommended, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry
