Meet Ms. B.: The Educator Who Climbs Mountains and Inspires Learners

Sara Berghoff, known to learners as Ms. B., is a Middle School Coach and ELA facilitator for iLEAD Online. An experienced educator with a Master’s degree in Social-Emotional Learning, Ms. B. combines her teaching expertise with a lifelong passion for adventure and the outdoors. Let’s get to know Ms. B!

What do you LOVE about iLEAD Online? What sets it apart from other schools?

The best part about iLEAD Online is getting to build relationships with learners and their families while supporting them as they discover their strengths.

I love the kindness and teamwork mentality of iLEAD. We are a strong unit because of how everyone works together and helps each other.

In your opinion, what makes a great leader?
A great leader shines through empathy and compassion, ignites a sense of camaraderie, and inspires others by leading alongside rather than from above.

What does a day in your school life look like (pick a day, any day…or a composite of a day)?

A day in my life begins with waking up to a morning meditation, feeding my pups, and making coffee. I enjoy a quiet cup before taking my dog Sage out for a run or mountain bike ride in the Tahoe forest above my home. The day is then filled with meaningful work, and afterwards you’ll often find us hiking, walking by the river, playing pickleball, or climbing.

1. I love exploring, whether that’s climbing, skiing, surfing, or hiking.
2. My pup, Sage, is my loyal adventure partner.
3. I lead with compassion and value meaningful connections.
4. I enjoy mindfulness, meditation, and moments of quiet reflection.
5. I can be shy at first, but I love connecting and having fun once I feel comfortable.
6. Climbing, skiing, surfing, mountain biking, and hiking keep me grounded and inspired.
7. Pickleball, new challenges, and laughter are all part of my daily life.
8. From the mountains to the ocean, I feel at home in nature.
