Learner Spotlight: Liam Williamson
A Fourth Grader with a Passion for Learning
Fourth grader Liam Williamson joined iLEAD Online last year, and we are thrilled to hear from his parents and his facilitator, Katelyn Evenson, that he is flourishing.
“His love for technology and need to be independent quickly emerged, and Liam took the reins of his own learning. He feels empowered by the ability to choose his own classes, which he does based on interests and risk-taking. Liam manages his own time and immerses himself in rigorous coursework that he enjoys. He has learned that he has higher expectations of himself than anyone else does.” —Parent Quote
Liam’s enthusiasm for learning has spilled over into other areas that he is passionate about: baking, tae kwon do, and jujitsu. He has taken on leadership roles in his martial arts classes and managed to set and meet rigorous goals. Liam’s interest in cooking has transformed into a passion for baking. He can incorporate baking projects and math skills into iLEAD’s project-based curriculum.
It’s the best of both worlds when the work you do is also your passion!
We are happy you’ve already had the opportunity to learn that, Liam!
