Free Application for Federal learner Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act Applications (CADAA) information for foster youth: 

Thanks to the advocacy of John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY), LACOE has received a generous donation and is issuing $50.00 Amazon electronic gift cards to the first 200 youth (residing in foster care) that complete their FAFSA/CADAA (see attached flyer for details). LACOE, Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program is hosting two FAFSA Completion workshops for learners residing in foster care scheduled for the following dates (see flyer):

  • Tuesday, October 12, 2021 (3:30pm – 5:30pm)

If you need training on how to support a learner in completing the FAFSA, John Burton Advocates for Youth will be hosting a workshop on the following date/time (see attached flyer):

  • Completing the FAFSA: A How to for Adult Supporters of Foster Youth
  • Tuesday, October 19, 2021  (10:00am – 12:00pm)

Senior Graduation Meeting

If you are graduating in Fall 2021/Spring 2022, please make sure to attend the Senior Graduation meeting. Details on graduation, pictures and much more will be discussed. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 21st @ 6 pm. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend. The zoom link will be sent at a later date. 

  • Learners enrolled in College & Career advisory please make sure to mark your calendar for the following event: 
  • October 28th @ 11 am: Guest Speaker will present on Financial Aid and Scholarships
