Instructor: Kristen Lawson

My name is Ms. Kristen Lawson, and I am proud to be your coach! I was born and raised in California. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Marketing from UC Santa Barbara, a Teaching Credential from National University, and a Master’s in Education from UC San Diego. I am certified to teach Early Childhood Development, elementary education, and high school. This will be my eighteenth year teaching elementary, junior, and high school students. Over those years, I have worked as a Lead Teacher, Curriculum Developer, athletic director, and Math Small Group Instructor. I have a true passion for working with students. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development—academic, social, language, and emotional—is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily. I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment and I always see a child’s glass as half full! Personally, I have been with my partner for four years and have a kind and witty son, Jackson, who just turned 12 years old. We love to watch my son play soccer and grow into an athlete. I also enjoy reading, cooking, music, dancing, working out, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to working together with you!
