Instructor: Frank Gately

Hello there! My name is Frank Gately, and I’m an academic coach and facilitator with iLEAD Online. I have over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher, in addition to teaching after school enrichment classes in ceramics, drawing, and watercolor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English, as well as a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. I am thrilled to be working with a team where innovative, flexible, and online project-based learning is a central guiding principle to meet the needs of our learners and their families. I’m a highly curious individual who’s always on the lookout to discover something new. From drawing and experimenting with watercolors, to getting my hands in the “mud” by creating wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics, I’m all about embracing creativity. You’ll often find me playing guitar, folding intricate origami creations, tending to my extensive succulent collection, and even making cuisines from other cultures. I love spending time with my wife and son, as well as our lively bunch of family pets, including our 36-year-old African Grey parrot, Oliver. Life is a fascinating adventure, and there’s always so much to learn, explore, and share with others!
