Instructor: Jessica Weiss

My name is Jessica Weiss and I teach both English and CTE courses here at iLEAD Online. I taught full-time at in-person public schools for 7+ years, and am now working from home in my dream job which I started in Spring 2021. Teaching is a career that brings meaning to my life, and I love what I do, which is mainly striving to help all of my learners be successful in my classes and in life. My teaching experience includes years of various English, Social Science, and elective courses. I got my B.A. in Film Studies from UC Berkeley, almost wanted to be a screenwriter for a minute (but still love it as a hobby), and instead went to Cal Poly, SLO for my English teaching credential, then went on to get two more teaching credentials (in Social Science and CTE: Arts, Media, and Entertainment), and still went back for more torture by getting my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (it was awesome though! I honestly do love learning new things). Other than English, I've spent most of my time teaching video production, but have taught other digital arts, including photography and graphic design. Now, I teach theater too. Other than teaching, I spend most of my time with my dachshund Max who goes with me almost everywhere. I kayak, go on long walks, do photography, row, sail, write, read, I volunteer with Rotary, mentor new teachers, and I watch quite a bit of TV.
