5th Graders Explore Poetry and Art in iLEAD Online Adventure Course
iLEAD’s Online Adventures for grades TK-8 invites learners to personalize their education. As part of the Language Arts course in Online Adventures for Grade 5, Facilitator Audrey Godde’s learners recently embarked on a creative journey that blended haiku with visual art.
Two standout examples of the Haiku Mini Project come from 5th graders Lilah and Sloane.
Lilah’s haiku and art transport the reader to outer space:
Infinite beauty
Colors pink, blue, purple, black
Space a wonder
Sloane’s haiku celebrates the beauty of flowers:
Flowers bloom in spring
They feel soft and delicate
They are so pretty
These two haiku and their accompanying artwork offer a glimpse into the thoughtful creativity and artistic talent of iLEAD Online learners. Facilitator Audrey Godde’s project successfully integrated language arts and visual arts, allowing learners to explore their creativity in a multisensory way.
