This course is based on the Engage NY standards, which contains 6 modules pertaining to the following topics. For the Math 5A course, we will specifically address Modules 1 and 2 of the Engage NY Curriculum. This course will go further into the base ten system when it comes to multiplying and dividing 2-3 digit whole numbers. Students will also deepen their understanding of place value charts and dive deeper into the decimal place value system. Included in this study is an understanding of the metric system and different mental math strategies when it comes to multiplying and dividing two to three-digit numbers.
