iLEAD Online Team Member Spotlight: Greg Joackim

When Greg Joackim saw Star Wars at age seven, he knew he wanted to be a screenwriter in Hollywood. Unfortunately, he  was born in the Bronx, New York. After attending Fordham Prep, a Jesuit-taught preparatory high school for Fordham College, he convinced his parents to move to sunny California. There, he attended USC Film School and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Film & Television Production.

Soon after, Greg landed a job as a Writer/Producer at Disney Interactive, where he worked for five years, serving as the Creative Lead on many high-profile games including Disney’s Villains’ Revenge, which won “Best Children’s Game of the Year” from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. Since then, Greg has focused on freelance writing in the animation industry for studios like Disney, Warner Brothers, and Paramount, working on TV shows that include The Powerpuff Girls and Looney Tunes, and the feature films Wonder Park and The Funko Pop Movie.

In his spare time, he has also worked as a stand-in and photo double for Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, and Stanley Tucci.

As an educator with iLEAD Online, Mr. Joackim is excited to share the knowledge, experience and passion he has for the film and video game industries with young learners. He has CTE Teaching Credentials: Arts, Media & Entertainment and Information & Communication Technologies.
