This course is based on the Engage NY standards, which contains 6 modules pertaining to the following topics. For the Math 5B course, we will address Modules 2, 3 and a portion of Module 4. This course will address equivalent fractions, converting improper fractions into proper fractions, estimating the sums and differences that include fractions, and relating the concept of division to fractions. The course is intended for students to develop a good number sense when it comes to dividing 2-3 digit numbers and dealing with fractions.
