Course Highlights: Consumer Math

Consumer math puts valuable math skills to the test in real-life applications. Learners will appreciate how we use math to successfully navigate the world around us, from balancing a budget to investing in the stock market. Learners will build the skills they need to earn, spend, save, and invest money as they consider the cost of living in contemporary society.

This course is designed to provide students with the ability to further their math skills by applying mathematics to real life applications, such as budgeting money, calculating earnings, taxes, credit cards, loans, etc. Students will learn how to communicate ideas in a variety of settings, as well as employ problem-solving skills effectively. They will demonstrate critical thinking skills to projects at hand and expand their mathematical skill set. Students have the benefit of project-based assignments, virtual classroom time, and regular practice with the skills they learn in this course. Grades 9-12
