iLEAD Online Learner Tristam H. Longlisted for Winter Olympics

We are thrilled to share some incredible news about one of our learners, Tristam H., a 9th grader at iLEAD Online who has been longlisted for the Winter Olympics in Milan this February! Tristam and his family have embraced the flexibility of iLEAD Online to pursue his passion for snowboarding at an elite level.

We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Tristan’s mom to learn more about his journey, what brought him to iLEAD, and what makes his experience here so special.

Why did you choose to enroll at iLEAD Online?

We chose iLEAD Online because it gives me the ability to have a flexible learning schedule. Snowboard training and global travel take up most of my time, often placing me in different time zones where I can’t follow a typical U.S. school schedule. iLEAD allows me to learn on my own time.

Who is a strong iLEAD Online influence and why?

Jeanette Weiss has been a tremendous help with navigating school and my schedule.

What are you passionate about, and how does iLEAD Online help you pursue your passions?

I’m passionate about snowboarding! I’m a 15-year-old US athlete who has been longlisted for the next Winter Olympics in Milan. iLEAD Online allows me to train and travel year-round for halfpipe snowboarding without sacrificing my education.

Can you name some interesting facts about yourself?

• I travel with my mom year-round to train for snowboarding.
• In my spare time, I like to edit anime and make art. I’ve even collaborated with my uncle, Eli Gesner (Zoo York, Shut Skates), to make my own streetwear. I do wish I had more time at home to spend with my friends, my cat, and my dad, but I love snowboarding.
